Under Control
Under Control derived from many influences and probably most notably Aphex Twin. The song uniquely progresses from a feel of gentle relaxation to that of intense threatening chaos. It is a very experimental piece and as such passed through a number of changes in its development. One of its phases included a track of computerized “feminine” vocals in Japanese. It was decided that these vocals were a bit annoying and that a high-pitched synth sounded far better.
Live Performances
This song was once played back to a very unusual skit whereupon a man with a smoking problem transformed into a sort of ogre. The skit was just as experimental as the music and held little to no meaning. The purpose was just to entertain and provide the audience with something to speculate as they listened to the song.
