His Story
I am currently on the hunt for the true story of WW2. The conventional history books are clear that the National Socialists (aka Nazis) of Germany and Hitler were inhumane and executed and experimented on Jews and Christians in massive quantities. As I uncover any of the accuracy or inaccuracy of that story, I will write what I find. But that is what spurred me to write this song.
Though it goes unconsidered, it is undeniable that he who wins a conflict is the one who gets to tell everyone what happened, what the story of the conflict was. And by vilifying his adversary and anyone who speaks for the adversary, a stigma is created that one must not contradict or question the validity of said victor’s story.
Lyrics
At the end of every war one side claims victory
And the victor is the one who writes down his story
He can vilify and even lie about his enemy
And that becomes the timeline in the minds of you and me
Hey kid
Let me tell you who the bad guy is
Let me show you all the horrible things he did
Can you believe it?
Better believe it, kid
But is it right
Who won the fight
Shut up and stick to the book
Or is it wrong
It’s been too long
Don’t ask quetions, don’t look
Don’t ask quetions, don’t look
Shut up and stick to the book
Don’t ask quetions, don’t look
Shut up and stick to the book
His
Story
Our history is a mystery
So ask the ones who claimed victory
Tell a lie enough times we’ll believe
Say it’s true because it’s his story
Our history is a mystery
So ask the ones who claimed victory
Tell a lie enough times we’ll believe
Say it’s true because it’s his story
Don’t ask quetions, don’t look
Shut up and stick to the book
At the end of every war one side claims victory
And the victor is the one who writes down his story
His
Story
His
Story
Our history is a mystery
So ask the ones who claimed victory
Tell a lie enough times we’ll believe
Say it’s true because it’s his story
Don’t ask quetions, don’t look
Shut up and stick to the book
